Kiatnakin Bank Public Company
Limited has received approval to upgrade to
be a commercial bank on 13 September 2005.
The new business emphasizes on the areas of expertise
that has been the strength of Kiatnakin Bank which
includes Consumer Loan, Residential Project Loan, and
Commercial and Industrial Loan for certain business
segment (e.g. transportation, packaging, printing,
etc.).
During the first 3 years, the core commercial banking
services will be provided, which includes the upgrade of
our 21 financial offices throughout Thailand to be a
commercial bank branch. We are also opening another
branch in Bangkok called the Asoke branch.
Currently, the Kiatnakin has more than 74 billion baht
in asset; our goal is to increase the amount to be 100
Billion Baht within the next 3 years.
Brief History
1971
Kiatnakin Bank and Securities Company Limited was
founded by Mr. Kiat Wattanavekin and operated a finance
and securities business.
1982
Became broker number 19 in the Stock Exchange of
Thailand.
1988
Registered as a listed company in the Stock Exchange of
Thailand.
1993
Converted into a public company with a registration
number PLC. 172.
1997
Economic crisis caused the company to stop its operation
temporarily along with other 57 financial institutions
1998
With support, sacrifices and dedication from our
shareholders, committees, creditors, customers, related
government offices, management, and employees, the
company survived the financial crisis and was granted
permission by the Ministry of Finance to continue our
operation. Thus, Kiatnakin expanded its business by
bidding in the asset auction set up by Financial Sector
Restructuring Authority (FRA).
1999
Separate the Finance business and the Securities
business from each other.
2000
Purchased Radhanatun Finance Public Company Limited
2003
Assessed by Institute of Directors Association (IOD) to
be one of 50 companies that has good corporate
governance.
2004
•Has been nominated to be one of three financial
institutions with excellent operating performance for 2
consecutive years from the Stock Exchange of Thailand.
•Received an upgrade in credit rating from BBB+ to A-
from TRIS Company Limited.
•Successfully converted to a commercial bank. The
company was assessed in the area of corporate governance
and was placed in the top quartile in the financial
industry.
2005
Officially began operating as a commercial bank on 3
October 2005.
